Nice Bistro

We had a great time performing at Nice Bistro last week. Wonder if I can post some of the pictures from that show on this blog... It has been a very busy week in general and now were launching into cd mode. This month, I hope to get the cd cover completed. And then next month, we'll be in the studio laying down the tracks. We've invited some friends to come to the studio to play some percussion instruments. Beef up those rhythms.... Well, today is Sunday... off to see some friends.

Rehearsal

What a great Saturday night. We had a great rehearsal in preparation for cd II. Latin, Caribean feel with lots of words...and words... and more words! I've been working on jazz 'improvisation' and trying to find my own style. Not as easy as I thought it would be. Keith has been very helpful, sitting next to me and trying to make my improv as busy as possible. Can't believe he gets all those notes in on the tuba and more. In 30 min, I will have completed the final Harry Potter book. Must get reading. Bonne Nuit!

Le Metropolitain - Aug 25th

Here's the first one, we are mentioned in the last paragraph... did you find it? Pour une deuxième année, les membres du club Jeunesse d’Hier se sont joints à ceux du Club canadien-français d’Oshawa (CCFO) afin de souligner la fête des Acadiens. Les célébrations ont eu lieu le samedi 23 août à L’Amicale. Pour l’occasion, certains portaient un t-shirt arborant le drapeau acadien, d’autres étaient vêtues des couleurs bleu, blanc, rouge et jaune à l’effigie de leur drapeau, mais tous avaient le cœur àla fête. « C’est la seconde fois que nous avons notre pique-nique à L’Amicale, raconte Marcel Soucy, président de Jeunesse d’Hier. C’est plus pratique qu’au parc Lakeview où il fallait réserver et payer pour l’espace. Ici, le stationnement est plus près, c’est plus tranquille et, plus important encore, nous sommes chez nous. » Pendant l’après-midi, les aînés en ont profité pour socialiser et jouer quelques parties de bingo dont les numéros étaient habilement appelés par M.
