Final Count Down

Can't say I really know what I am counting down.. however every year on my birthday, I feel as though I am getting closer to something, I am achieving a new level of my life. I actually look forward to moving ahead. Then after a horrible week at work, I start to wonder maybe I am running away from the past which is not quite far enough behind to be forgotten...

Looking ahead to the next couple of weeks... I think I will enjoy the sun, the changing leaves and the cool breeze.

"I call him St. Francis of Assisi because he used to bring in all the strays in the neighbourhood," says the Oshawa musician. Her father died in April, roughly four months after the fire at the Humane Society of Durham Region that destroyed the Oshawa building and killed more than 100 animals there. Hartshorn-Walton says the tragedy "really affected him" and she shares both her father's love of animals and his distress at what happened that day.
